What is an Air source heat pump?

air source heat pump

An air source heat pump is an energy-saving device that uses high-level energy to flow heat from low-level heat source air to high-level heat source. It is a form of heat pump. As the name suggests, a heat pump is like a pump that can convert low-level heat energy that cannot be used directly (such as the heat contained in air, soil, and water) into high-level heat energy that can be used, thereby saving part of the high-level energy (such as coal, gas, and oil). , electric energy, etc.) purpose.

A heat pump is an energy-saving device that uses high-level energy to flow heat from a low-level heat source to a high-level heat source. As the low-level heat source of the heat pump, air is inexhaustible, available everywhere, and can be obtained free of charge. Moreover, the installation and use of air source heat pumps are relatively convenient. The research, production, and application of air source heat pumps (also known as air-cooled heat pumps) in my country only developed rapidly in the late 1980s. The current products include household heat pump air conditioners, commercial unit heat pump air conditioning units and heat pump hot and cold water units.

According to the unit capacity, it is divided into: small household units, medium-sized units, large units, etc.

According to the unit combination form, it is divided into: integrated unit (a unit composed of one or several compressors sharing a water-side heat exchanger is called an integrated unit) and modular unit (a unit composed of several independent modules, called an integrated unit). For modular units)

Air source heat pumps have the following characteristics:

(1) The air source heat pump system combines hot and cold sources into one, and does not require a special refrigeration room or boiler room. The unit can be placed on the roof or the ground arbitrarily, without occupying the effective use area of the building, and the construction and installation is very simple.

(2) The air source heat pump system has no cooling water system, no cooling water consumption, and no cooling water system power consumption. In addition, many cases of Legionella infection caused by cooling water contamination have been reported. From a safety and health perspective, air source heat pumps also have obvious advantages.

(3) Since the air source heat pump system does not require a boiler, corresponding boiler fuel supply system, dust removal system and flue gas emission system, the system is safe, reliable and has no pollution to the environment.

(4) The air source heat pump cold (hot) water unit adopts a modular design, so there is no need to set up a backup unit. During operation, the computer automatically controls and adjusts the operating status of the unit to adapt the output power to the working environment.

(5) The performance of air source heat pumps will change with changes in outdoor climate.

(6) In order to adapt to the ambient temperature, heat pumps can now be used in environments with very low ambient temperatures.
